The Australian Government's Household Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme
The Australian Government's Energy Efficient Homes Package is a $3.9 billion package to improve the energy rating of Australian homes - cutting their energy waste, making them more comfortable and helping households save up to 40 per cent on their electricity bills.
Under this program the Australian Government is offering:
- ceiling insulation and solar hot water systems worth up to $1,000
- up to $600 rebate on heat pumps
- Householders will claim the $1000 rebate directly through the Medicare system
- The government says it remains committed to installing insulation in up to 1.9 million homes, including those already installed with insulation under the discontinued home insulation program, to be completed by 2011
